The Sfendoni cave is in the Zoniana village, 43 km from Rethymno town. It is 3000 sq.m. and you can Admire it via its 270m organized route.
An unlimited number of stalactites and stalagmites covers this impressive cave that is considered as one of the five best preserved caves of Greece and the first one in Crete.
The navigation path allows a safe visit into the cave even for the disabled. The cave is part of the Natural Park of Psiloritis which belongs to the European Geoparks Network, a network of protected areas with special geological heritage under the auspices of UNESCO.
You can visit it throughout the whole summer. It is open from April 10th to October 31st, from 10:00 to 17:00 throughout the week.
