A clean , spacious, well equipped villa with a private pool . Cleaned and sheets changed twice a week. Lovely pastries baked by our friendly cleaner. Walking distance to village shops and an excellent taverna . Views of the sea from a mountain setting. Beds are quite firm! Air conditioning in upstairs bedrooms. Great to have a garage for safe off road parking. A good base to explore Chania and Rethymno regions.

The property and it's suppport crew (Roula and Leonardis) are very very nice. It was clean and comfortable, with adequate kitchen utensils to allow for self-catering. We were three friends staying a week in Crete, and were attracted to this property because it sounded like it was in an area that would be more vibrant than it really was. We would recommend this property for families who want to spend most of their time in the villa, at the pool, as a vehicle is needed to get anywhere (beaches, sights, even to the nearest bus stop!). The lack of street lighting on the island made night driving quite nerve-wracking, thus limiting any night life to the village of Kefalas. When we arrived we had a bit of trouble locating the keys (they were not where we were told they would be). Fortunately, the kind gentleman next door helped us find Roula to let us in. We also didn't have hot water for the first 24 hours, and no way of calling the numbers provided on the info card provided, as there isn't a land line phone in the villa. Oreo Travel was very helpful in helping us out over email though, and the water issue was resolved. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the villa, but would recommend it more for folks who want a quiet time in a small village.

This villa is a true gem and we had a fabulous holiday in Kefalas and Chania. Description very accurate and in fact the villa also has a private underground garage, ideal for keeping our hire car safe and also cool. Excellent communication and driving directions from the airport and arrangements to collect keys, we were also given a guided tour when we arrived. Kefalas has two mini markets in walking distance and tavernas and bars too, lovely picturesque village and friendly locals and service everywhere, nothing was ever too much trouble and we felt very welcome from day one. The villa itself is just beautiful with everything you could possibly need from the outdoor BBQ, sun loungers and parasols, kitchen utensils to wifi. It was peaceful and in a tranquil setting and we loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea watching the world go by and the sun rise/set. The villa was cleaned and fresh linen and towels provided mid week too. We enjoyed several days out to nearby Lake Kournas, Rethymno and Chania, and loved wandering around the old towns and harbours and Lake Kournas was so beautiful. It was lovely driving through the hidden villages of Crete instead of taking the National Road at times, and experiencing the real Cretan lifestyle. And it was also lovely returning to Mylo Villa and enjoying the privacy and tranquility of your own villa and particularly the fabulous pool. Kefalas felt like home for a week. We would highly recommend this property, it truly is a hidden gem, and in fact hope to return later this year and take our parents. And we want to say a special thank you to the owner and his lovely family too who could not do enough to make you feel welcome. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful villa, and we hope to be back soon :) Julie and Andy, Wirral, UK

We were 7 (family + friends) and spent an excellent 9 days stay in this very nice house. Very comfortable, clean and completly equipped. We were greeted warmly by Leonidas The house is very nice. The two terraces allowed us to always have a corner in the shade or in the sun... April was a good season to stay in this region/house. We had a beautiful sunshine during the 10 days in Crete.

We have had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Mylo. The villa and pool were very clean and we loved having fresher sheets and towels and someone to clean mid week. The location is great, would definitely recommend the Meterizi restaurant in Kefalas, especially with the live music on Friday nights. We also particularly loved the views from the villa. We would recommend for future visitors to leave a welcome pack with milk, water, bread (the basics) and a few suggestions of what to do in the region. Also we would have quite liked a better barbecue and utensils. Things we would recommmend to do in the local area: - Lake Kournas with pedalos - Samaria Gorge walk - Quad biking in Georgiopolis - Chania day trip (remember swimsuits to go snorkelling on boat trip!) - Elafonisi beach (but beware very long journey and very crowded so not really worth it) Overall, this has been a great holiday and we would thoroughly recommend staying at Villa Mylo.

Our stay at the villa was fantastic. Loads of space inside for a family (2 adults and 3 over-18's) and with the pool area immediately outside the large kitchen the usable space is massive. Arrived at the villa to find it just as in the photos. Spotlessly clean. Located in quiet village but two very good Taverna's within 2 min walk along with mini-market. Village is set on a hill so views to the sea from the pool area and the first floor terrace. Handy garage for parking. Short drive to either Almyrida or Giorgiopolous for lovely clean beaches, clear water and seafront cafes. Can't recommend highly enough.

0ur group of four had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Villa Mylo. It is a very well constructed villa with excellent facilities. The outside area with the pool was greatly used. The pool maintenance with the clarity of the water was one of the best we have encountered over many years visiting different countries. There was a thorough cleaning of the villa prior to and during our stay, with beds changed regularly by a very helpful and lovely staff member. When we encountered a problem with the door lock, it was professionally fixed the next day. Cooking facilities and equipment was generally excellent - although some new thick based frying pans / small saucepans and a decent barbecue are needed. We greatly appreciated the Air Conditioning in the upper floor bedroom and were surprised to find it hadn't been included in the lower floor bedroom, especially at the height of Summer. On many evenings,we made great use of the Meterizi Taverna, which was within walking distance of the Villa. Their Friday night Greek evening with two excellent guitarists will long stay in our memories. A car is essential to explore part of this region. The secure garage built below the swimming pool was a bonus. A very enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

The position of the villa is perfect, in a village with some life, courtesy of the two tavernas, but in a quiet location off the main drag. Nearby is the town of Vamos, where a local tourist organization will help you get in touch with the authentic Crete, from cheesemaking to cooking to hammering out goat bells by hand. A little further is Rethymno, a charming port town that we preferred to Chania. The villa itself is comfortable and quite well stocked wh kitchen ware if you'd like to cook, and a barbecue too. The pool is greatly appreciated on hot days, ideal for a cool-off after an outing. Roula, who cleans the place, and Leonidas who takes care of any technical problems with the house (we had very low water pressure one day) are very friendly and responsive. And if you need more information about local life or happenings, Spiros at the mini mart and Maddie at the taverna are also friendly and happy to chat. We would definitely stay here again; love Crete, love Kefalas, love Villa Mylo.

Villa Mylos is a lovely, well-equipped old house in a quiet village. We received a warm welcome from Roula: she showed us around and explained things. The sea view from the balcony is great and from nearby in the village you get a stunning view of the White Mountains. There is a good restaurant within walking distance, and also a cafe and two mini-markets. The village streets are very narrow and tortuous, so do not hire a large car! However, the villa has a large, cool garage for parking. The water supply was a bit erratic, ranging from feeble to non-existent, but you always have a pool full of water for use in an emergency! We only swam in the pool once, because when we came home in the evenings it was usually too cold, but it is lovely. There were a lot of other English people in the area - whether this is good or bad is entirely a matter of opinion! If you like walking, the Tourist Office in Vamos can provide information on local walks.

The villa is very well fitted out. Everything is clean and ready for use. Two disappointing aspects, no welcome pack and TV has no English channels.

The village of Kefalas is idyllic. Completely away from all the usual tourist stuff but still a relatively easy drive to Georgiopoulis or Chania. The tavernas in the village are great (The Meterizi is of a really high standard) and the two little mini-markets provide pretty much everything you need and some great local produce too. The villa itself is of a hugely high standard, both building and furnishings - showers are great too! The upstairs double bedroom is one of the most fabulous places to wake up in! The outside space is lovely and there is always somewhere to find sun or shade at any time of day. The pool is beautiful - unfortunately because of the awful weather we had for most of the time we were there we didn't really get to use it as much as we would have liked. We loved it - just wish we'd been luckier with the weather - but even the locals said it was 'crazy weather'! Can thoroughly recommend this home from home.
